Reprint omnibus hardcover edition of "The South Pole: An Account of the Norwegian Antarctic Expedition in the ‘Fram’ 1910-1912" by Roald Amundsen (Barnes & Noble, 1976). Translated by A. G. Chater. This edition consolidates the full two-volume story into one volume, richly illustrated and including maps, some folding. This is an ex-library copy, showing heavy wear. The jacket is now protected in a new, removable archival sleeve. There is discoloration towards the bottom edge of the jacket where a library sticker was previously attached. Library stamps are present in several places. Blemishes are visible on the boards and endpapers where the jacket was once taped. The boards exhibit heavy wear, particularly around the edges. The hinges are cracked, the spine leans, and there are several instances of split binding. Tears and other blemishes are present on the endpapers where library materials were likely once adhered. Condition can be seen in the provided photos.
