Royal Doulton "The Balloon Man" Vintage Home/Office Collectible Decor Figurine

This is a magnificent Royal Doulton "The Balloon Man" vintage porcelain figurine. It was first introduced in 1940 and retired in 1958. Item number is HN 1954. It was designed by Leslie Harradine. It depicts an elder man who is sitting on a carton of milk selling his ballons. He his facial expressions are of a sad person and curved back from sitting long hours with no back support, indicative of a hard-working person. He is wearing a black hat and long black trench coat, carrying his balloons. He is wearing a traditional white shirt, red vest and black long pants of the 1920 era. He has a hobo bag on his side. This an incredible story this piece depicts. The figurine is high glazed. It's 7.25" tall and 6.25" wide. The Royal Doulton is displayed at the bottom with the items number. This figurine is in excellent vintage condition. No original box. Last known original retail price is $225.00.
